論文寫作中常需比力研究的後果或是與其它不同研究作比力，而最經常使用的動詞就是compare，      例如:

1. The diamond beyond compare in its beauty is part of the Crown jewels.

這顆鑽石的秀麗無與倫比，是皇冠上的一部分。

    以上是習用語，compare雖是動詞，但在此的作用就猶如名詞一般，也可用comparison代換。
